West Ham United's move for Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike has moved a step closer after Fenerbahce agreed to loan him out, sources have told ESPN FC.

The Hammers have made a bid to take Fenerbahce striker Emenike on loan for the rest of the season, but the move needed the agreement of Fenerbahce and Al-Ain as the 28-year-old had been on loan at the United Arab Emirates club.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates --  A police officer in the United Arab Emirates has appeared in court over filming himself holding Barcelona star Lionel Messi's passport.

Abu Dhabi's state-run The National newspaper reported on Tuesday that the police officer appeared in Dubai's Court of Misdemeanors over the posting the video to the mobile phone app Snapchat in December.

The newspaper said the video included the caption: "Shall I burn the passport or just put it back!"

Australia kept their hopes alive as Vietnam's were extinguished in the second Group D matches at the AFC Under-23 Championship in Doha.

After the Olyroos defeated Vietnam 2-0, United Arab Emirates and Jordan drew 0-0 on Sunday night to put the West Asian nations in pole position to advance to the knockout stages.

Jordan and UAE are top of the group on four points followed by Australia on three, with Vietnam yet to open their account.
