FC's Jason Dasey and Alistair Edwards recap Australia's win over Bangladesh, while Malaysia and Singapore lost at home.

Interim Malaysia coach Ong Kim Swee believes he has a 50 percent chance of getting the job on a fulltime basis.

Ong, who took over as caretaker boss from Dollah Salleh in September, oversaw a respectable 2-1 defeat in Tuesday night's AFC 2018 World Cup qualifier against the United Arab Emirates.

Never so much did defeat feel like a moral victory for Malaysia as they narrowly lost to the United Arab Emirates in Tuesday night's AFC 2018 World Cup qualifier, their final international match of the year.

Cahill took his Socceroos' tally to 45 goals in 88 international matches as he opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a simple header before adding to his account in the 32nd and 38th minutes.

Captain Mile Jedinak grabbed Australia's fourth goal two minutes before half-time before a more resilient defensive...

The Malaysia national team have had a dismal year on the international front. (Photo credit:

Those Lions who live across the Causeway could even finish second in Group E in the second round of AFC qualification for the 2018 World Cup. At the moment, Malaysia will be mightily relieved if they do not end up bottom of Group A.

This has been the most painful...
