Uganda ban referees after offside goal

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations have banned three match officials after they were found guilty of mishandling a Premier League game between Express FC and defending champions Vipers SC.

The Premier League game played on November 7 at the Mutesa II Stadium ended 1-1, but was mired in controversy.

KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi has sustained injuries after being attacked by 'thugs' at his residence in Kawempe, Kampala on Monday.

Uganda squad named for Cape Verde qualifier

Uganda coach Sebastien Desabre has named a 30-man squad ahead of a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Cape Verde next month.

The Cranes need only one point in Kampala on November 17 to book a second consecutive appearance at the continental finals.

Uganda started their campaign with a 1-0 win away to Cape Verde last year, before battling to a goalless home draw against Tanzania. They then responded with 3-0 and 2-0 wins against Lesotho to put them on the brink of qualification.

Uganda have confirmed that they will face Nigeria's Super Eagles in an international friendly on November 20 at the newly completed Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
