Thailand expect to win the AFF Suzuki Cup while others can merely hope

FC's Jason Dasey and PJ Roberts believe Thailand will continue their strong run of form at the AFF Cup against Myanmar.
Thailand finished with a perfect record in Group A of the AFF Suzuki Cup by defeating the Philippines.
Substitute Sarawut Masuk netted a late winner for Thailand as Singapore were beaten 1-0 by the defending Suzuki Cup champs.

Thailand head into their AFF Suzuki Cup semifinal first leg in Myanmar on Sunday as hot favourites to reach the final, and go on to win the tournament.

The defending champions were always going to be the team to beat and nothing has happened to change that view. The War Elephants were not at their best in the group stage, yet still managed to win three games out of three, beating Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines.

After being released by Army United, Hassan Sunny has been linked to a possible move to Australia.

Singapore international goalkeeper Hassan Sunny has been released by Army United as the relegated Thai League club look to cut costs in preparation for life in second tier.

Hassan, who recently starred for his country at the AFF Suzuki Cup, had spent two years in Thailand's Premier League, establishing himself as one of the top keepers in the country after being signed by Army's former head coach Gary Stevens early in 2015.
