U.S. travel ban could affect chances of hosting 2026 World Cup - FIFA chief

ESPN FC's Herculez Gomez weighs the pros and cons of a 2026 World Cup joint-bid between the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino indicated on Thursday that U.S. President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban could prevent the United States from hosting the World Cup.

"It's obvious when it comes to FIFA competitions as well, any team, including the supporters and officials of that team, who qualify for a World Cup need to have access to the country, otherwise there is no World Cup," Infantino said.

Trump's latest executive order bars new visas for people from six countries and temporarily...

Senegal and Egypt win to secure African Nations Cup qualification

Mohamed Salah scored twice as Egypt booked their place at the African Nations Cup.

Egypt and Senegal qualified for the African Nations Cup thanks to wins against Tanzania and Burundi.

First-half goals from Premier League duo Sadio Mane and Mame Biram Diouf sealed a 2-0 win for Senegal at Burundi and ensured they will win Group K, having won five games from five, scoring 11 times and conceding just twice.

The other game in that group saw Namibia run out 1-0 winners against Niger with Peter Shalulile's 15th-minute goal settling the game.

Meanwhile, a Mohamed Salah brace resolved...

Nigeria lose to Egypt, fail to qualify for 2017 African Nations Cup

Mohamed Saleh and Egypt have eliminated Stanley Amuzie and Nigeria from next year's African Nations Cup.

Nigeria will not be competing at the 2017 African Nations Cup after losing 1-0 to Egypt on Tuesday.

Ramadan Sobhy took advantage of a missed clearance to put Egypt atop qualifying Group G at Borg El-Arab Stadium, where a longstanding ban on fans attending games in large numbers in Egypt was temporarily lifted.

Nigeria faced a must-win game after Chad withdrew from their group earlier this week. Under CAF's rules, all of Chad's previous results are thrown out, leaving Nigeria with just two points...

Mohamed Salah salvages late draw for Egypt at Nigeria in ANC qualifying

Mohamed Salah scored in stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw for Egypt at Nigeria in a 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier on Friday.

Oghenekaro Etebo had provided Nigeria with the lead on 95 minutes, though Odion Ighalo missed chances to double their advantage.

And Egypt made them pay late on when Etebo played Salah onside to score in the final moments.

Egypt lead Group G by two points midway through the campaign, with Nigeria's chances starting to dim after they already failed to win at Tanzania...

DR Congo and Zambia wrap up wins to reach qualifying group stage

Palace star Yannick Bolasie was on target from the penalty spot

Crystal Palace forward Yannick Bolasie scored from the penalty spot as Democratic Republic of Congo beat Burundi 5-4 on aggregate to reach the group stages of African World Cup qualifying.

DR Congo, who held a 3-2 advantage from the first leg, went in front through Jordan N'kololo after 19 minutes, but an own goal from Dieumerci Mbokani made it 1-1 soon afterwards.

Bolasie scored from the spot with 13 minutes of the match remaining -- but there was still time for Fiston Abdul Razak to score from...
