Jodie Taylor scored her fourth goal in two games at the Women's European Championship as England closed in on the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory over Spain.

Arsenal striker Taylor fired in a hat-trick in Wednesday's 6-0 thrashing of Scotland in England's Group D opener, and sealed a hard-fought win for the Lionesses with another in rain-soaked Breda after Fran Kirby had given Mark Sampson's side an early lead.

Giorgio Chiellini: Italy 'wanted it more' after previous losses to Spain

Italy goal scorer Giorgio Chiellini said his side "wanted it more" as they defeated Spain 2-0 in the round of 16 at Euro 2016 on Monday.

Spain had eliminated Italy in the previous two European Championships, first on penalties in the quarterfinals in 2008 before a 4-0 thrashing in the 2012 final.

Chiellini's first-half goal held up until Graziano Pelle sealed the win with Italy's second in stoppage time, and the centre-back said the Azzurri avenged their previous defeats.

Euro 2016: How the draw works for next summer's finals

Hosts France will be joined by holders Spain plus Germany, England, Portugal and Belgium as the six seeded nations at Euro 2016. France will automatically be drawn into position A1, playing their games in Paris, Marseille and Lille, with the other seeds placed into position 1 of groups B through to F.
