Faris stars as clinical LionsXII hammer relegation-facing Kelantan

LionsXII came up with an emphatic display to defeat Kelantan 3-0 in Saturday's Malaysia Super League (MSL) match at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

After claiming the 2015 Malaysia FA Cup with a 3-1 win over the Red Warriors in May, the Singapore-based side were victorious once again thanks to goals from Faris Ramli and Khairul Amri.

Fandi Ahmad's side came out all guns blazing and they were clearly hungrier than their relegation-threatened opponents, who looked a pale shadow of their usual imposing style.

LionsXII's Izzdin assumes Isa's mantle ahead of Kelantan's MSL visit

Midfielder Izzdin Shafiq is ready to pick up the mantle from hardworking former captain Isa Halim when the LionsXII host Kelantan in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday night. 

The former Home United midfielder is the only player in Fandi Ahmad's side to have started in all 20 of their MSL and Malaysia FA Cup matches and has made the central midfield role his own. Izzdin will be alongside the returning Shahdan Sulaiman this weekend.

Four foreign players from the S.League have been picked in the Singapore Selection squad for this month's Barclays Asia Trophy on home soil.

A Singapore XI will face Arsenal on July 14 with the winners facing either Everton or Stoke at the National Stadium at Kallang four days later.
