Three S.League matches rescheduled as Singapore hunt SEA Games gold

Singapore's quest to win the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games football gold medal for the first time has seen three games in the Great Eastern-Yeo's S.League rescheduled ahead of the June showcase on home soil.

All the matches involve the Courts Young Lions (CYL) and include the much anticipated clash against glamour side Tampines Rovers next Tuesday. That will now take place on Aug. 13 instead.

The game between the CYL and Geylang International FC scheduled for Apr. 23 will now be played on Aug. 10....

Singapore's chances of advancing to next year's Asian qualifying tournament for the Rio Olympic Games look bleak after suffering a 5-0 defeat to China in their second match of AFC U23 Championship qualification in Laos on Sunday.

This follows a 0-0 draw with the host nation on Friday. Their third and final game will be against Mongolia on Tuesday.

Ten group winners and the five best second-placed teams will join hosts Qatar at in the 16-team AFC U23 Championship 2016 in January.

Suphanburi FC winger Jakkapan Pornsai was back at his best for Thailand against Singapore in last week's friendly and says he is eager to see teammate Charyl Chappuis back as soon as possible.
