Euro 2016 hosts France to prepare with Scotland, Cameroon friendlies

Cameroon will be looking to avoid any missteps in their quest for African Nations' Cup qualification.
France will face Cameroon as one of two friendlies leading up to Euro 2016.

PARIS -- France will play friendly games against Cameroon and Scotland as part of their preparations for the European Championship.

The French football federation said Didier Deschamps's team will take on Cameroon on May 30 in Nantes before playing Scotland in Metz on June 4.

Skipper Scott Brown remains determined to qualify for a major finals with Scotland but knows it will not get any easier.

England were fined over crowd disturbances in the 3-0 win over Lithuania.

NYON, Switzerland -- UEFA has fined England, Lithuania, Scotland and Poland over crowd issues in European Championship qualifiers earlier this month.

England were fined €15,000 ($16,510) over crowd disturbances in the 3-0 victory over Lithuania in Vilnius on Oct. 12.

ESPN FC's former Scotland international Craig Burley sounds off on Scotland for celebrating a fourth-place finish in Euro 2016 qualifying.

Gordon Strachan will take charge of Scotland's World Cup qualifying campaign after signing a two-year extension as manager.

Strachan had taken time to consider his future after Scotland finished fourth in their European Championship group, behind Germany, Poland and play-off contenders Republic of Ireland.

But the vocal backing of an 11,000-strong travelling support in Scotland's final qualifier, a 6-0 win against Gibraltar, helped persuade Strachan to stay on.
