Brazil defeat Panama in extra time to win Pan Am Games bronze medal

Brazil won the Pan Am Games bronze medal on Saturday.

Brazil scored twice in extra time to defeat Panama 3-1 and win the bronze medal at the Pan Am Games.

Panama saw a penalty saved in the first half but took the lead just before half-time on Josiel Nunez's goal.

Luciano answered for Brazil in the 76th minute to force the extra session, which belonged to Brazil.

Lucas Domingues scored nine minutes into extra time to put his side in control before Luciano added his second of the game in the closing stages.

Mexico vs. Panama ref accepts 'officiating errors' - CONCACAF

The president of CONCACAF said on Saturday that referee Mark Geiger acknowledged making mistakes during the contentious Gold Cup semifinal between Mexico and Panama.

The regional soccer body did not say what those errors were as Mexico won 2-1 on Wednesday in Atlanta to reach Sunday's final against Jamaica.

Mexico game at Gold Cup was fixed, says Panama FA chief Pedro Chaluja

Panama Football Federation president Pedro Chaluja believes his side's controversial 2-1 loss to Mexico was fixed, and has called on FIFA and CONCACAF to examine possible match-fixing at the Gold Cup.

Chaluja said Costa Rica joined Panama's petition to ask FIFA's regional governing body to investigate, and said they had the support of interim CONCACAF president Alfredo Hawit.
