Jordan surprise Australia in World Cup qualifying as Japan, South Korea win

ESPN FC's Janusz Michallik questions whether Australia might have been a bit complacent heading into in their AFC World Cup qualifying loss against Jordan.

Jordan scored twice in the second half to upset continental champions Australia 2-0 on Thursday and move to the top of Group B in the second round of Asian qualifying for the World Cup.

The result, in front of a passionate home crowd in Amman, gave Jordan a one point lead over the Socceroos with four games remaining.

Jordan's pace troubled the Asian Cup winners for most of the game and the hosts took the lead two minutes into the second half when Hassan Abdel Fattah blasted a penalty high into...

Radamel Falcao scores penalty in Colombia's victory; Qatar win again

Radamel Falcao scored his third goal in two games to help Colombia defeat Kuwait.

Radamel Falcao went within one goal of Colombia's scoring record by netting a penalty on Monday to complete a 3-1 victory over Kuwait in a friendly.

Abel Aguilar opened the scoring with a volley in the 22nd minute, but Mesaed Al Enzi equalised following a corner on the stroke of half-time.

After the break, Edwin Cardona put Colombia ahead with a 30-yard blast, and Falcao, who also scored twice against Bahrain last week, drew a penalty on the edge of the box before converting the final goal.

Malaysia boss Dollah worried about lack of preparation for internationals

Malaysia coach Dollah Salleh says his nation will need better preparation for international matches in the wake of Thursday's humiliating 6-0 defeat in the friendly against Oman in Muscat.

While accepting responsibility for the drubbing in the Middle East, the 51-year-old former Malaysia striker says he will ensure that his squads are not underdone in the future.

"It's my mistake," Dollah was quoted by The Star after returning home to Kuala Lumpur. "We should have been better prepared to face Oman,...

Malaysia get reality check after being routed by Oman in friendly

Malaysia coach Dollah Salleh will have few positives to take home from Thursday's friendly against Oman in Muscat.

Suzuki Cup finalists Malaysia were handed a reality check after an inexperienced line-up fell to a 6-0 defeat to Oman in an international friendly in Muscat on Thursday night.

For the Omanis, it was a solid first step towards forgetting their AFC Asian Cup disappointment, in which they bowed out in the group stages of January's tournament in Australia.

Braces from Abdulaziz Al Muqbali and Yaqoob Abdulkarim, a Qasim Said strike and a late Mohsin Johar penalty capped off the easiest of wins for an...

Brazil rally to win in France while Radamel Falcao brace lifts Colombia

Oscar and Neymar scored as Brazil rallied past France 3-1 in a friendly on Thursday.

Raphael Varane scored following a corner kick in the 21st minute to give France the lead, but Oscar equalised shortly before half-time by poking home after a one-two with Roberto Firmino.

Brazil took full control after the break, and Neymar provided the lead in the 57th minute with a blast from the corner of the six-yard box following a counter-attack.

Luis Gustavo made the lead comfortable in the 69th minute...
