UEFA docks Croatia one point in Euro qualifying for swastika on pitch

A swastika on the pitch has cost Croatia the point they earned in the draw against Italy.

Italy have moved to within a point of Euro 2016 qualifying Group H leaders Croatia on Thursday as their rivals were deducted a point by UEFA.

UEFA announced that the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) had been docked one point because of the racist behaviour of their fans during the 1-1 draw with Italy in Split last month. Television pictures of the game showed how a swastika had been drawn on the pitch.

Martin Odegaard shines as Norway and Sweden draw

Martin Odegaard created many chances but could not spark Norway to a win over neighbours Sweden.

Real Madrid's Martin Odegaard impressed but could not help Norway find a breakthrough in a goalless draw with Sweden on Monday.

The 16-year-old created multiple scoring chances and looked much more lively than Sweden star Zalatan Ibrahimovic, who missed an opportunity to score in the first half.

Norway striker Alexander Soderlund could have had a hat trick as the hosts had the better of the ball after half-time, though Sweden also came close in the closing minutes.

Bournemouth sign Norway international striker Joshua King

Joshua King will play in the Premier League next season with Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have signed Norway international striker Joshua King following his departure from Blackburn.

The former Manchester United youngster was out of contract at Rovers, who offered him a new deal, and arrives at the Premier League newcomers on a free transfer.

However, Blackburn will be due compensation for the move as King is under the age of 24. If a fee is not able to be agreed by the two clubs then it will be decided by a tribunal.

England U19 women reach finals after replaying penalty in qualifier

England's Under-19 women's team qualified for the European Championships in bizarre circumstances after scoring a penalty in the replayed final seconds of a qualifier against Norway.

In an unprecedented move, UEFA ordered for the last minute of injury time to be replayed, starting with a retaken spot-kick, five days after the original game ended in controversy when a refereeing blunder denied England the right to take the penalty again.

England's under-19 women's team will replay the final seconds of their European Championship qualifier against Norway on Thursday night after UEFA admitted the referee made a mistake in the original encounter.
