Nigeria interested in England U20 forward Ademola Lookman

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will look into the possibility of convincing England under-20 forward Ademola Lookman to pledge his international future to the African nation.

NFF official Bitrus Bewarang told the BBC that he was "excited" to see 19-year-old Lookman, whose parents are Nigerian, score on his Everton debut against Manchester City on Sunday.

FIFA vote against 48-team World Cup would be 'big surprise' - Nigeria chief

The FC panel weigh the pros and cons of an expanded World Cup as FIFA prepares to finalise a 48-team format for 2026.

Nigerian Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has said there is widespread excitement about FIFA's idea to expand the World Cup to 48 teams and that it would be a "big surprise" if the plan is not approved.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino's plan, which would come into effect in 2026, is set to be rubber-stamped at a meeting of the FIFA Council in Zurich on Tuesday.

Nigeria head coach Sunday Oliseh had every reason to smile following his team's 4-1 thrashing of Niger.
Sunday Oliseh has found a new job after resigning as Nigeria boss.

Dutch club Fortuna Sittard have hired former Nigeria captain and coach Sunday Oliseh as their new manager.

Oliseh, 42, stepped down as Super Eagles boss in February following claims of unpaid wages.

He now takes over the second-tier club in a return to the Netherlands, where he previously played for Ajax from 1997 to 1999.

Fortuna Sittard said Oliseh had signed an 18-month contract.
