Nigerian coach Sunday Oliseh, right, has called up Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme as part of his squad for the team's next Africa Nations Cup qualifier.

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has called up goalkeeper Carl Ikeme from Wolverhampton in preparation for their upcoming Africa Nations Cup qualifier vs. Tanzania next month.

Much of the squad is unchanged from the one his predecessor Stephen Keshi used his last time around. However, Oliseh did recall UAE-based forward Emmanuel Emenike, Werder Bremen striker Anthony Ujah and midfielders Lukman Haruna and Obiora Nwankwo.

Nigeria approach Jordon Ibe over international allegiance switch

Former Liverpool man Steve Nicol says that Jordan Ibe may not get the playing time he did last season, even with the departure of Raheem Sterling.

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh has made a personal approach to try to persuade Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe to switch his international allegiance from England.

Oliseh visited the 19-year-old at the Reds' Melwood training base for talks on Wednesday, sources have told ESPN FC.

Ibe has represented England up to under-20 level, and is set to move up to the under-21 team this season.

He could still play for Nigeria, though, because he has not yet played for England in a senior competitive international.

Sunday Oliseh has made a living as a TV pundit as well as earning his UEFA Pro Licence since retiring.

ABUJA, Nigeria -- Former midfielder and captain Sunday Oliseh was confirmed as the new coach of Nigeria on Wednesday.
