Chelsea's Victor Moses and Watford's Isaac Success could be banned by Nigeria after failing to honour invitations for the last World Cup qualifying squad.

Both players were withdrawn from the Nigeria squad after the football federation received letters from their clubs saying they were injured.

ABUJA, Nigeria -- The Nigeria national team bus was hurriedly driven away from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on their arrival from Zambia after a gun was fired into the air early on Monday morning.

Two unidentified men in plainclothes claiming to be police officers were waiting at the airport for Nigeria to return home late Sunday night after the 2-1 World Cup qualifying win at Zambia.

Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho score as Nigeria beat Zambia in WC qualifying

Alex Iwobi netted his first international goal against Zambia.

Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho both found the back of the net as Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 to top Group B in their third-round World Cup qualifying campaign.

Arsenal midfielder Iwobi opened the scoring for the Super Eagles in the 32nd minute, firing into the bottom corner following a knockback to net his first international goal.

And Manchester City striker Iheanacho then doubled Nigeria's lead 10 minutes later as he latched onto a through ball before rounding the keeper and slotting home.

Steven Gerrard, Robert Pires and Jay-Jay Okocha are among the star names lined up for a six-a-side international tournament to be launched in London next summer.

Star Sixes, which will take place at London's O2 Arena from July 13-16 next year, will feature Brazil, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Italy, France, England, Portugal, Australia, Nigeria, Netherlands and China.

Premier League duo Victor Moses and Isaac Success have both withdrawn from the Nigeria squad with injuries.
