Martin Odegaard shines as Norway and Sweden draw

Martin Odegaard created many chances but could not spark Norway to a win over neighbours Sweden.

Real Madrid's Martin Odegaard impressed but could not help Norway find a breakthrough in a goalless draw with Sweden on Monday.

The 16-year-old created multiple scoring chances and looked much more lively than Sweden star Zalatan Ibrahimovic, who missed an opportunity to score in the first half.

Norway striker Alexander Soderlund could have had a hat trick as the hosts had the better of the ball after half-time, though Sweden also came close in the closing minutes.

UEFA awards Russia 3-0 win over Montenegro in Euro 2016 qualifier

Russia keeper Igor Akinfeev was knocked unconscious by a flare, prompting play to be suspended until further notice.

UEFA has given Russia a 3-0 win over Montenegro by forfeit after crowd violence forced a European Championship qualifying match to be stopped and later abandoned.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel ordered Montenegro to play their next home qualifier in an empty stadium. The Montenegro federation was fined €50,000 ($54,000).

The Russian federation was fined €25,000 ($27,000) for improper conduct by supporters.

UEFA charges both Montenegro and Russia in abandoned qualifier

UEFA has charged both Montenegro and Russia after their Euro 2016 qualifier in Podgorica was abandoned after Russia players were hit by missiles.

The Montenegro Football Association has been charged with holding a match that did not get played in full, and for fans throwing fireworks and missiles. The Russian football union has also been charged for the setting off/throwing of fireworks and objects by their spectators.

Montenegrin chief blasts 'barbarians' after Russia Euro qualifier abandoned

Russia keeper Igor Akinfeev was knocked unconscious by a flare, prompting play to be suspended until further notice.

Momir Djurdjevac, the general secretary of the Montenegrin FA. said fans had "left the impression of barbarians" after Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier at home to Russia had to be abandoned.

After only a minute had been played, Russia goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was hit on the head by a flare thrown from the stands and had to be stretchered off for hospital treatment.
