Mexico announces hiring of Juan Carlos Osorio as next manager of El Tri

Mexico announced the hiring of Juan Carlos Osorio as the next manager of its national team after a contract agreement was reached on Friday.

The Mexican Football Federation announced the agreement on Saturday, saying Osorio will take over the team as they prepare to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Mexico's statement said Osorio would sign the final papers next week and scheduled an introductory news conference for next Wednesday.

Marie Delie scored off a header 34 seconds in, the second-fastest goal in the history of the Women's World Cup, and France routed Mexico 5-0 Thursday night at Ottawa, Ontario, to win Group F on goal difference over England.
