A late Slovenia fightback earned them a 2-2 draw away to Lithuania to begin their World Cup qualification campaign.

Bostjan Cesar headed the equaliser in the third minute of injury-time after Rene Krhin had started the comeback from 2-0 down with 77 minutes on the clock.

Lithuania's goals came in the space of three first-half minutes, the first a stunning Fedor Cernych effort as he ran into the space in front of him before arrowing a 30-yard strike into the top corner.

Moments later Vykintas Slivka...

Late Lallana goal as England edge Slovakia; Germany, Scotland cruise

ESPN FC's Craig Burley and Alexis Nunes react to England's 1-0 win over Slovakia in World Cup Qualifying.

Adam Lallana ensured Sam Allardyce's reign as England manager got off to a dramatic winning start with a strike deep into injury time to beat Slovakia 1-0.

Allardyce had looked as though he would have to settle for a deeply uninspiring stalemate in Trnava -- the hosts having held firm in the World Cup Group F qualifier despite Martin Skrtel's sending-off after a nasty stamp on Harry Kane.

However Lallana picked a perfect moment to break his international duck and seal three points.

Italy control Finland as Iceland win and Poland draw in friendlies

Italy were fully in control as they beat Finland 2-0 in Verona on Monday in their final warm-up for Euro 2016.

Antonio Candreva won and converted a penalty in the first half, coolly side-footing into the bottom right corner after being tripped by Perparim Hetemaj, who plays club football at the same stadium.

Candreva also set up Italy's second goal, with a cross which substitute Daniele De Rossi headed into the bottom right corner in the 71st minute.

De Rossi had been on the pitch for only seven...

Spain thrash South Korea through Nolito, Alvaro Morata; Belgium held

Nolito and Alvaro Morata each scored twice as Spain routed South Korea 6-1 in a warmup game on Wednesday ahead of the European Championship.

David Silva and Cesc Fabregas also found the net and the defending champions had two more goals disallowed for offside as they showed remarkable efficiency in attack after being held 0-0 for the opening half hour.

Nolito has now scored four times in eight matches for Spain, while Morata repaid the faith of coach Vicente del Bosque, who overlooked Chelsea forward...

Germany stunned by Slovakia; Spain ease to victory; Italy stifle Scotland

In a wild and rainy friendly match, Slovakia came back from 1-nil down to defeat Germany 3-1.

Slovakia shocked World Cup winners Germany with an impressive 3-1 win in a rain-swept Augsburg on Sunday evening.

Mario Gomez gave the hosts the lead from the penalty spot after Juraj Kucka fouled Mario Gotze, but Slovakia captain Marek Hamsik and Michal Duris turned the friendly on its head with two goals in three minutes before the heavens opened at half-time.

A delay to the start of the second half, caused by the weather, did not knock the Slovakians out of their stride and Kucka added a third,...
