A single goal from Islambek Kuat ensured Kazakhstan won on their final day of the Euro Championship Qualifiers against Latvia, however it was too little too late, as neither team qualified for Euro 2016.

Islambek Kuat's second-half strike earned Kazakhstan a 1-0 victory over Latvia in their final Euro 2016 Group A qualifier in Riga on Tuesday night.

The game was heading for a goalless draw until 22-year-old midfielder Kuat surged through the Latvian defence and slotted past goalkeeper Andris Vanins in the 65th minute to earn Kazakhstan their first and only victory of the campaign.
