Dos Santos brothers, Andres Guardado all doubtful for Mexico in final

PHILADELPHIA -- Mexico coach Miguel Herrera still has some major doubts over his starting team to face Jamaica in the Gold Cup final on Sunday, with Jonathan dos Santos, Giovani dos Santos and Andres Guardado all doubtful because of injuries.

LA Galaxy forward Giovani dos Santos picked up an injury to his left abductor in the final Gold Cup group stage match against Trinidad and Tobago, while his brother Jonathan and Guardado were hurt in Mexico's controversial semifinal against Panama on Wednesday.

Andres Guardado considered kicking penalty wide vs. Panama

ESPN FC's John Sutcliffe and Tom Marshall review all of the controversial moments in Mexico's 2-1 victory over Panama in the Gold Cup semifinals.
Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez says he "deeply considered retiring from soccer completely" after his team lost 2-1 to Mexico in their CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinal.

Andres Guardado, who scored both of Mexico's goals in their 2-1 Gold Cup semifinal win over Panama on Wednesday, said that it briefly crossed his mind to intentionally miss the controversial penalty kick which he eventually scored to level the match.

"It was painful. Yes, for a minute, yes [I considered kicking it wide] but in the end, we are professionals and you think about the times you have been on the other side and the hearts of the other team's players aren't moved," Guardado told TV Azteca....
