Michel Dussuyer quits as Ivory Coast coach after African Nations Cup failure

LIBREVILLE, Gabon -- Michel Dussuyer has resigned as coach of Ivory Coast after the defending champions failed to advance from the group stage at the African Nations Cup in Gabon.

The Frenchman's exit was confirmed by the Ivory Coast Football Federation on Sunday.

Dussuyer was in charge of the Ivorian team for just 18 months, having taken over the African champions from Herve Renard.

Saloman Kalou quits international football after Ivory Coast exit

Salomon Kalou won 89 caps for Ivory Coast.

Salomon Kalou has retired from international football after Ivory Coast's shock exit from the African Nations Cup.

The defending champions lost 1-0 to Morocco in their final Group C game in Gabon on Tuesday, leaving them with only two points from three matches.

Hertha Berlin striker Kalou, 31, confirmed after the match that it would be his last for his country.
