Singapore's Sundram frustrated by team's inability to convert chances

Head coach V. Sundramoorthy is frustrated that Singapore haven't been able to capitalise on their chances, with their winless streak stretching to five games after Tuesday's 2-0 defeat in Hong Kong.

Despite creating several goal-scoring opportunities, the Lions came up empty-handed for the second time in four days.

On Friday, they dominated Malaysia at the Sports Hub, but drew 0-0.

"It was a very good game, very exciting and there were chances for both teams," coach Sundram told The New Paper.

Lucero and Diaz help JDT beat South China to book AFC Cup semifinal

Defending AFC Cup champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) overcame a penalty miss from captain Safiq Rahim in a 2-1 victory over Hong Kong's South China in the second leg of the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.

Argentine strikers Juan Martin Lucero and Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored JDT's goals in the second half at Larkin Stadium to give the Malaysian giants a 3-2 win on aggregate.

JDT will play the winners of Tampines Rovers, of Singapore, and Indian champions Bengaluru FC in next month's semifinals.
