CONCACAF Power Rankings: Costa Rica on top

United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann thinks his team need to get tougher following their 4-1 loss to Ireland in Dublin.

The 2014 international year is in the books and by the time the nations of CONCACAF resume action in March, the 2015 Gold Cup will be just a few months away.

Since the World Cup, several countries' performances have improved noticeably while others have declined. In the great spirit of the CONCACAF Hexagonal, it only makes sense for ESPN FC to debut its regional Power Rankings with its top six teams, plus a list of ones to watch come 2015.

Report: South Africa friendlies fixed

As many as five international friendlies played in South Africa in advance of the 2010 World Cup were apparently manipulated, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

Citing a leaked FIFA investigative report and other related documents, the newspaper reported that up to 12 matches may have been targeted for fixing. None of those in question were part of the World Cup.

According to the Times, it is "probable" that the matches were fixed so that gamblers could win by making bets based on the knowledge...

Cameroon to play Moldova

Samuel Eto'o and the Cameroon squad are training in Austria ahead of the World Cup.

Cameroon will host Moldova in its final friendly before the World Cup after Guatemala cancelled a trip to the West African nation citing security fears, the Cameroon Football Federation said on Thursday.

Guatemala decided not to travel to Cameroon for the June 7 game in the capital Yaounde for "security reasons," federation spokesperson Laurence Fotso said. Local media suggested deadly...
