FIFA dismisses Ghana's complaint over World Cup Qualifying game

Ghana Uganda
Ghana had asked that their 0-0 draw in Uganda be replayed.

ZURICH -- FIFA says it will not act on Ghana's complaint about refereeing in a World Cup qualifying match last weekend.

The Ghana federation wanted its 0-0 draw in Uganda replayed, and also protested about South African referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants from Seychelles.

Raphael Dwamena returning stronger after failed Brighton move

Ghana international Raphael Dwamena believes that he returns to action a stronger character after missing out on a move to the Premier League.

The FC Zurich striker appeared set for a dream switch to Brighton and Hove Albion before the move fell through due to health concerns, although Dwamena has since had extensive tests on his heart and is back playing again for club and country.

He appeared in Ghana's last two games away in Kampala against Uganda and Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, and has now got over...

Onyango criticises Uganda organisation after Ghana draw

Cranes skipper Denis Onyango has complained that the nation's authorities are not serious about football after their draw with Ghana on Saturday.

The reigning Africa-based Football of the Year has acknowledged that he's disappointed with the Uganda Football Association's inability to properly prepare the playing surface at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole ahead of their World Cup qualifier against the Black Stars.

Three days before the match, 60,000 worshipers had held an overnight prayer...

Kwesi Appiah opens can of worms with new calls

Ghanaian fans urged Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to act after a poor World Cup qualifier against Congo in Kumasi -- and so he did with a squad for the next round of qualifiers that is heavy on big-name omissions and surprise inclusions.

In typical Ghana football fashion, Appiah simply released the squad without much explanation for his choices, but that release spoke loudly about his thinking.

The Black Stars boss has left out the Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan, not called up Jeffery Schlupp...
