Gyan dropped as Levante's Boateng earns debut Ghana call-up

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has handed debut call-ups to Levante's Emmanuel Boateng and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt of Bayern Munich for two international friendly games in June against Japan and Iceland.

The pair are the only new names in a 21-man squad that is without many of the side's established players.

"Leaving Juventus is like leaving a family for good but I needed to do this for my family."

There are no movers inside the world's top 47 places, and therefore Africa's top six remain as they were in April.

This means that Nigeria, with less than a month to go until the World Cup, are 47th overall and sixth in the continent.

Africa's top five are Tunisia (14th overall), Senegal (28),...

Aduana Stars recover to hold Raja Casablanca in Confederation Cup

Aduana Stars staged a remarkable recovery to hold Raja Casablanca to a 3-3 home draw in the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday, but still have their work cut out to reach the knockout stages.

The Ghanaian champions fell behind three times, but recovered on each occasion to preserve an undefeated home record that stretches back two seasons.

However, the draw leaves them at the foot of Group A, having taken one point from their opening two matches. AS Vita Club lead the group on four points after...
