Aduana takes charge as title race gathers steam

Aduana Stars are the new leaders of the Ghana Premier League after earning a point against Medeama on the weekend, raising Stars one point above WAFA in the standings.

This season has effectively been a race between the two sides, and the Dormaa club piled on the pressure as WAFA sat out the weekend's round of matches after their game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko was postponed.

It meant Aduana's point away at Tarkwa against Medeama proved crucial, but WAFA have two games in hand.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu welcomes Afcon date switch

Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has welcomed the changes to the Africa Cup of Nations and says that CAF's decision will ease the pressure on players.

The Confederation of African Football confirmed on Thursday that the biennial competition will be expanded to 24 teams - from 16 - and that the tournament will be moved to June and July rather than January and February.

The Udinese midfielder, a veteran of five Nations Cups, also believes that the tournament expansion will make it a harder...

The 23-year-old had helped Ghana Premier League side Wa All Stars to claim the country's domestic league title in 2016, and the year before was named Goalkeeper...

The 26-year-old joined Alaves earlier this week -- his 10th club since moving to Europe in 2008 -- after leaving Panathinaikos.

While the versatile midfielder has won many admirers with his dynamism, technical qualities and all-action approach, he has picked up 86 yellow cards and six red cards over the last nine years.

Kwesi Appiah returns to Ghana after two years

Coach Kwesi Appiah will wrap up what he calls a "very successful" tour of Major League Soccer clubs this weekend by visiting the largest Ghanaian contingent at Columbus Crew.

He has visited the trio of Lloyd Sam, Kofi Opare and Patrick Nyarko at DC United, as well as three players with connections to Ghana at Philadelphia Union.
