Eder scored in extra time as Portugal claimed Euro 2016 success.

Portugual forward Eder has said he is sorry for France after returning to the country just two weeks after scoring the winning goal in the Euro 2016 final.

Eder, 28, netted an extra-time winner as Portugal shocked the host country with a 1-0 victory at the Stade de France on July 10.

After a short break, the former Swansea forward arrived for preseason training at his club side Lille on Monday.

"I didn't have a lot of holidays but it's no big deal," he said in a video posted on Lille's website.

Jose Mourinho refused to comment directly on any recent updates surrounding Paul Pogba.

Dimitri Payet thinks that his France teammate Paul Pogba will be a major asset to whichever team he plays for regardless of how much he costs to buy.

Pogba, 23, has been tipped to make a €120 million switch from Juventus to his former club Manchester United.

Payet played alongside Pogba during France's run to the Euro 2016 final and the West Ham playmaker feels it is only natural that the midfielder would be attracting such interest.

"All I know is that Pogba is an exceptional player," Payet...

Security foiled 'deadly' terrorist attack before Euro 2016 - PM Manuel Valls

Security in France ensured that no major attacks took place during Euro 2016.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls says security forces foiled what could have been a "particularly deadly" terrorist attack shortly before Euro 2016.

There was relief in France when this summer's tournament passed off without major incident, but last Thursday 84 people were killed in Nice when a man driving a truck ploughed into crowds of people who were celebrating Bastille Day.

Speaking in the wake of that tragedy on Monday, Valls said French security services had prevented another serious incident...
