Nioclas Anelka: I will name 2010 World Cup mole behind France insult claim

Nicolas Anelka denied insulting Raymond Domenech in the way L'Equipe alleged.

Nicolas Anelka has told Onze Mondial that he will reveal the identity of the dressing room mole whose revelations led to him being sent home from the 2010 World Cup.

A front-page report in L'Equipe that summer said Anelka had allegedly aimed a crude insult at the then national team coach Raymond Domenech at half-time of France's group stage game against Mexico.

The revelation -- which led to the squad going on strike -- was purportedly leaked by a person within the France setup.

Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia has voiced his support for the victim of an alleged assault by a French police officer.

Inter Milan have invited the victim of an alleged sexual assault by a French police officer to attend one of their matches as a guest of the club.

The shocking details of the case sparked protests in France and four officers have been charged -- including one for rape -- in connection with the incident in a Paris suburb.

The victim, identified only as Theo, was pictured wearing an Inter Milan jersey as he was visited in hospital by French President Francois Hollande earlier this week.

France were beaten by Portugal in the final of the 2016 European Championship.

A study commissioned by the French government has revealed Euro 2016 had an economic impact of more than €1 billion on the host nation.

With organisational expenditure, from officials to participating teams, totalling €596 million and the impact of the 613,000 foreign visitors estimated at €625.8m, some €1.22bn flowed through the French economy as a result of the tournament.
