He effectively takes the place of Payet, with Deschamps unimpressed by the former Marseille winger's showings since moving to West Ham this summer.

LFP president Thiriez warns French FA over Ligue 1 promotion-relegation row

Alexandre Lacazette quashed rumours of a move away from Lyon, after scoring the winning goal in their club friendly against AC Milan.
Frederic Thiriez is convinced that the French Football league's decision should stand.

French Football League (LFP) president Frederic Thiriez has warned the French Football Federation (FFF) they "would be wrong to declare war on us" in the continuing row over next season's Ligue 1 relegation/promotion battle.

The FFF's executive committee is due to meet on Thursday and is reportedly set to annul the decision of its LFP counterparts taken earlier this month to reduce the promotion/relegation places to and from Ligue 1 to two as of next season.

A representative group of Ligue 2 presidents...
