Romania have officially qualified for the European Championship thanks to a convincing 3-0 win against the Faroe Islands, with Constantin Budescu scoring a brace.

Constantin Budescu struck twice and Alexandru Maxim was also on target as Romania secured their place at Euro 2016 with a 3-0 victory in the Faroe Islands.

Budescu opened the scoring in the fourth minute in rain-soaked Torshavn and added another with a cross-cum-shot on the stroke of half-time.

The Faroes did make life difficult for the visitors but substitute Maxim eased nerves seven minutes from time, sending Romania through as Group F runners-up with an unbeaten record.

Hungary came back from a goal down to defeat the Faroe Islands by a score of 2-1 to move within a point of second place in Gourp F.

Substitute Daniel Bode hit a quickfire double as Hungary came from behind to beat the Faroe Islands 2-1 and keep hopes of automatic Euro 2016 qualification alive.

Hungary were stunned as Roaldur Jakobsen gave the visitors an early lead in Budapest but they recovered after a laboured first-half display.

Bode changed the game with a superb header just after the hour and followed up with a fine finish on 71 minutes.
