Nicklas Bendtner urged to take chance

ESPN FC's Shaka Hislop comments on Nicklas Bendtner's move to Wolfsburg, where the striker will continue to remain an enigma.

Nicklas Bendtner has to take his opportunity at Wolfsburg, Denmark coach Morten Olsen has told kicker.

Bendtner, 26, was released from his contract at Arsenal earlier this summer, and on Friday the Dane joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer.

The attacker put pen to paper on a performance-based three-year-deal, with a clause allowing Wolfsburg to terminate the contract without any redundancy payment should he be involved in any off the pitch scandals, according to kicker.

Olsen told kicker that Wol...

Atletico fail to follow Denmark's script

Denmark celebrate their success against Netherlands at Euro 92.
Denmark celebrate their success against Netherlands at Euro 92.
"I know exactly what Atletico Madrid players felt when Sergio Ramos scored the equaliser," John Jensen tells ESPN FC. There is little wonder -- Los Colchoneros' experience in the Champions League final versus Real Madrid on Saturday was remarkably similar to that of Jensen's and his Denmark team against the Netherlands the semifinals of Euro '92.

In both cases, the underdogs had a one-goal advantage at half-time, as Henrik Larsen (not to be confused with the Swedish legend Henrik Larsson) score...

Roy Hodgson: More work to be done

England manager Roy Hodgson still feels his side have a lot of work to do ahead of the World Cup following their 1-0 defeat of Denmark on Wednesday.

Steven Gerrard celebrates after Liverpool teammate Daniel Sturridge scored England's winner against Denmark.
Daniel Sturridge netted the winner eight minutes from time.

Brewin: Lallana pushes for spot

The Three Lions were forced to work hard to get the victory at Wembley, but they eventually found the breakthrough late on as Daniel Sturridge headed home a Adam Lallana cross.

And while Hodgson concedes it ...
