Pavel Srnicek's funeral to take place in Czech Republic

Pavel Srnicek played 49 times for Czech Republic.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek's funeral will take place in the Czech Republic on Monday.

Srnicek died on Tuesday at the age of 47 after the decision was taken to switch off his life support machine.

The former Czech Republic international, who won 49 caps for his country, had been in an induced coma since suffering a cardiac arrest while out running in his home town of Ostrava before Christmas.

Ex-Newcastle keeper Pavel Srnicek stable after cardiac arrest - agent

Pavel Srnicek was a Czech Republic international.

Former Newcastle goalkeeper Pavel Srnicek had a "had a stable night and his body is healing" following his cardiac arrest, his agent Steve Wraith has said.

The 47-year-old is currently in an induced coma after collapsing while out running in Ostrava in his native Czech Republic.

It is hoped hospital staff will be able to carry out a CT scan on Wednesday on the stricken Srnicek, who played for the Magpies between 1991 and 1998 and was capped 49 times by his country.

Spain's Vicente Del Bosque calls Euro 2016 Group D 'extraordinarily tough'

ESPN FC's Santi Solari feels Croatia have the best midfield at the Euro's, but indicates Spain will still win the group.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque said he is wary of facing Croatia at Euro 2016 after they were drawn together in Group D along with Czech Republic and Turkey.

Two-time defending champions Spain will attempt to be the first nation to win the tournament three times running, but Del Bosque said they must overcome a "extraordinarily tough" group.
