FA charge Swansea's James Demetriou for alleged breach of betting rules

Swansea City striker James Demetriou has been charged with breaching Football Association rules in relation to betting, the FA has announced.

Demetriou, 19, signed for Swansea from Nottingham Forest on a free transfer last August.

A statement published on the FA's official website on Thursday afternoon read: "Swansea City's James Demetriou has been charged for alleged multiple breaches of FA Rule E8 in relation to betting. The player has until June 1, 2015 to respond to the charge."
