Real Madrid star Toni Kroos admits his side will miss Luka Modric who injured himself playing for Croatia.

Croatia coach Niko Kovac has blamed Luka Modric's current hamstring injury on him being overplayed by club Real Madrid.

Modric is currently sidelined with a tendon tear picked up playing for Croatia against Italy in a Euro 2016 qualifier in November, with Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti saying this week that the recovery was going well and he expected the 29-year-old to be training again in mid-January.

Hajduk Split's refusal to play is the latest problem for Croatian football

Six days after objects thrown onto the pitch caused Italy vs. Croatia to be suspended, there was more controversy in Zagreb.

When the Hajduk Split players walked on to the Poljud Stadion pitch Saturday, the almost 8,000 fans present in the north stand cheered them with loud singing and also lit flares.

Just minutes before, the team had returned from Zagreb, where they were supposed to have played Dinamo, their fiercest rival. However, after some of their supporters were denied access to Maksimir Stadion, Hajduk decided to disobey the rules.
