Jeremy Bokila netted a second-half brace as DR Congo claimed a remarkable 4-2 comeback victory over Congo to reach the semi-finals of the African Nations Cup at Estadio de Bata on Saturday.

Congo took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals after the break from Ferebory Dore and Koulossa Thievy before Dieumerci Mbokani pulled one back and Bolika's double sandwiched Joel Kimwaki's header to complete the comeback.

The win sees the Leopards reach the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 1998.

Congo improbably on the cusp of African Nations Cup semifinals

BATA, Equatorial Guinea -- "It was unthinkable for a second that CAF would not reject Rwanda's qualification to the group stage. We were expecting the decision."

Those were the wise words of Claude Le Roy, speaking to AfriqueFoot in August 2014. If there is a man who understands African football and knows how these things work, it is Le Roy. Congo bus breaks down at African Nations Cup, team stranded

BATA, Equatorial Guinea -- Congo's team bus broke down on the way to the remote town of Ebebiyin on Saturday, the latest problem for the squad at the African Nations Cup.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), the tournament organisers, confirmed the incident in a brief emailed statement, saying the bus had "a mechanical problem" around 40 kilometers from Ebebiyin.

The team was making the three-hour road trip from Bata to Ebebiyin, in the far northeastern corner of Equatorial Guinea, ahead...

Gabon were thwarted in their bid to become the first nation to reach the 2015 African Nations Cup quarterfinals as Congo pulled off a surprise 1-0 victory in Bata.

Jorge Costa's Panthers beat Burkina Faso in their Group A opener and would have sealed their progression to the knockout stages with a second win, but Congo had other ideas.

Prince Oniangue scored the only goal of the game following a defensive mix-up in the 48th minute and it proved enough to secure the Red Devils their first finals...

Congo netted an 87th-minute equaliser to deny host nation Equatorial Guinea victory in the opening match of the 2015 African Nations Cup in Bata.

Middlesbrough forward Emilio Nsue got the benefit of what looked a debatable offside decision to open the scoring in the 16th minute and Equatorial Guinea, by far the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, had chances to increase their lead in the second half.

However, they could not make them count and Congo deservedly drew level during a late onslaught...
