Albert Ebosse's father says 'My son was murdered'

Albert Ebosse died in August of injuries sustained from being hit with thrown objects during a football match.

The father of late Cameroonian footballer Albert Ebosse says his son was "murdered."

The striker died aged 25 in August last year after sustaining injuries from objects thrown from the stands in an Algerian league game against JS Kabylie. The pathologist who carried out the post-mortem tests on Ebosse said that the player "died of a beating."

Andre Bodjongo, the player's father, told BBC World Service's Sportshour: "It wasn't a rock. It wasn't a seizure. My son was murdered."

Radamel Falcao scores penalty in Colombia's victory; Qatar win again

Radamel Falcao scored his third goal in two games to help Colombia defeat Kuwait.

Radamel Falcao went within one goal of Colombia's scoring record by netting a penalty on Monday to complete a 3-1 victory over Kuwait in a friendly.

Abel Aguilar opened the scoring with a volley in the 22nd minute, but Mesaed Al Enzi equalised following a corner on the stroke of half-time.

After the break, Edwin Cardona put Colombia ahead with a 30-yard blast, and Falcao, who also scored twice against Bahrain last week, drew a penalty on the edge of the box before converting the final goal.

Samuel Eto'o receives accolade for fight against racism

Samuel Eto'o currently plays for Serie A side Sampdoria.

Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o has been honoured for his work countering racism, receiving the European Medal of Tolerance from the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, a non-governmental organisation.

ECTR president Moshe Kantor said the 34-year-old Cameroon great was receiving the award, given to him on Monday, for finding "the courage and will to stand against the racists, building awareness and inspiring fellow footballers and millions of football fans."
