Hitzfeld delighted with Switzerland win

BRASILIA, Brazil -- Ottmar Hitzfeld likened Switzerland's 2-1 victory over Ecuador to a "dream."

- Kelly: Switzerland's resolve bodes well

With the score tied at 1-1 and just seconds left in the third and final minute of stoppage time, Haris Seferovic netted from close range to secure all three points for his side.

Switzerland coach Hitzfeld was thrilled with the result and feels it will do wonders for his set of players going into the final two Group E games against France and Honduras.

"It was a dream to be able to win this match in the very last minute like this," Hitzfeld said. "It was emotional -- it will be important for the morale of the team."

Hitzfeld added of Seferovic: "Haris is a striker through and through. What he lacked was practice in terms of playing time at Real Sociedad. In the tournament build-up, he performed excellently but he still needs time to develop."

Seferovic scored the crucial goal, but teammate Valon Behrami deserves just as much credit.

It was the midfielder who produced a perfectly-timed tackle in his own box and then embarked on a run up the pitch in the build-up to the winner.

"It was a great feeling," Behrami said. "Those 30 seconds were amazing for us."
