Defender Jonas Olsson leaves West Bromwich Albion after nine years

Jonas Olsson
Jonas Olsson is returning to Sweden after almost a decade at West Brom.

Swedish defender Jonas Olsson has left West Bromwich Albion to return to his homeland and join Djurgarden.

Olsson, 34, would have been out of contract in the summer, but has reached a mutual agreement with Albion to terminate the remaining months of his deal.

It means he will sign for the Stockholm club in time for the start of the Swedish season next week.

His departure brings an end to a nine-year stay at The Hawthorns in which he helped West Brom win promotion back to the Premier League, making...

Mix Diskerud: 'It took some zen' to accept loan to Goteborg

Former U.S. forward Herculez Gomez goes position by position to reveal his depth chart for the USMNT's qualifier against Honduras.

Mix Diskerud said that he is in shape and ready to help Swedish side IFK Goteborg -- even if it "took some zen to deal with" the events that led him overseas and back to playing his first league match in over eight months.

The U.S. international's last appearance in a competitive league match came on June 15 of last year, when New York City FC fell in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup to the NASL's New York Cosmos.

Then in December of 2016, Patrick Vieira replaced Jason Kreis as manager and made...

Mix Diskerud seals loan to Sweden's IFK Goteborg after NYCFC exit

Orlando opened their new stadium with a 1-0 win over NYCFC, but the night was marred by an early injury to talisman Kaka.

U.S. international Mix Diskerud has sealed a loan to Swedish side IFK Goteborg following his tumultuous exit from New York City FC.

NYCFC bought out Diskerud's contract last week after he failed to make an appearance for the club after last June. He remained under contract with the league, but because of a no-trade clause, he could not join another MLS team.

An MLS source told ESPN FC earlier this week that the loan to IFK will provide "minor salary relief only" to NYCFC, which will remain responsible...

Mix Diskerud near loan to Sweden's IFK Goteborg after NYCFC exit - source

Orlando opened their new stadium with a 1-0 win over NYCFC, but the night was marred by an early injury to talisman Kaka.

U.S. international Mix Diskerud is close to securing a loan to Swedish side IFK Goteborg, with a Major League Soccer source telling ESPN FC that the deal could be completed in the next 24-48 hours.

Swedish outlet Expressen was the first to report the link between Diskerud and Goteborg.

The source said the loan, if completed, would provide "minor salary relief only" to Diskerud's former club, New York City FC, which would still be responsible for paying the bulk of the player's wages.

Borussia Dortmund sign Sweden striker Alexander Isak from AIK

Lukasz Piszczek's goal secured three points for Borussia Dortmund over 10-man Werder Bremen.
ESPN FC's Craig Burley feels Aubameyang should seek a move away from Borussia Dortmund, but where should he go?

Borussia Dortmund have completed the transfer of 17-year-old striker Alexander Isak from AIK Solna.

The Sweden international joins BVB for a transfer fee which a source told ESPN FC is €9.5 million. He has signed what the club described in a statement as a long-term contract, but the length of his deal still has to be determined by FIFA, due to his age.

The attacker had strongly been linked with a switch to Real Madrid last week, but opted to join Borussia Dortmund instead after the Bundesliga...
