Ajax boss Frank De Boer could be tempted by Swansea job

Ajax coach Frank De Boer has not ruled out taking over as manager of Swansea City.

The Swans are still without a manager after sacking Garry Monk last month, with Alan Curtis continuing in temporary charge over the Christmas period.

Curtis has guided the club out of the relegation zone with three consecutive clean sheets, including a 1-0 win at home to West Brom. as the club have been frustrated in their search for a new boss.

Former Argentina coach Marcelo Bielsa was reported to be their No. 1 target but so far they have been unable to persuade him to move to the Premier League club.

Now De Boer, who won four back-to-back Eredivisie championships with Ajax, says he could be talked into the job. This season, Ajax are three points clear at the top of the table as they look to win back the title they lost to PSV Eindhoven.

The Daily Mail reports that when asked by Dutch journalists if he woud be interested, he replied: "First you have to see what the plan is at a club and what I and the people I would take with me could add to it.

"The last club I was linked with was Swansea City, I have had no contact with them at this time.

"But what if these people paint me a pretty picture that they are in that category of clubs with which I could do something beautiful? Like clubs such as Tottenham and Liverpool.

"Those are the sort of clubs with which you would want to work. But the most important thing would be the feeling I get."

De Boer has 18 months remaining on his current contract with Ajax.
