Bafetimbi Gomis excited by Swansea's attacking options

Bafetimbi Gomis believes Swansea have enough firepower within their ranks to build on their positive start to the season.

The Swans currently sit sixth in the Premier League table after drawing 2-2 away at Chelsea before defeating Newcastle 2-0 on Saturday.

And Gomis, who netted in both games, is confident the club can continue to impress given their attacking options, including new signing Andre Ayew, who has also scored twice already.

"I know what a good player Ayew is, particularly in front of goal," Gomis told Swansea's official website. "He showed what a quality player he was in France and he's showing that quality here in Swansea.

"It's important for us to have good goal scorers like Andre. With him, Gylfi [Sigurdsson], Jonjo [Shelvey] and others who can score there are lots of goals in the side."

Gomis, who arrived from Lyon last summer, scored 10 goals in 36 appearances during his first campaign with the club and is hoping to do even better this season

"Scoring goals is great for my confidence. I worked hard in the summer to come back fit and raring to go," he said.

"My aim is to score more goals than last year and show a different side to myself at Swansea. I'm happy with my start to the season but it's more important that the team has started well with good results."
