Swansea manager Garry Monk: We deserved to beat Leicester

Swansea manager Garry Monk was pleased with his side's overall performance in seeing off Leicester -- but has asked his players to be braver in future as they seek to kill teams off.

Wilfried Bony struck in the 34th and 57th minutes as Swansea ended a run of five Premier League games without a win by beating Leicester 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

That saw Swansea climb into the top six but while Monk was quick to praise his players for the victory, he also admitted there were areas that he wants improving.

He told Sky Sports 1: "(I'm) very pleased with the first half, I thought we played very well. Second half was little bit scrappy, but it was always going to be like that, Leicester are very determined and were throwing everything at us.''

Asked if he felt his side's standards had dropped after the break, Monk added: "I said to the players afterwards, when teams come at you like that in the second half because they've got nothing to lose, we just have to be that little bit braver with the ball, pass it a little bit better.

"Our decision making has to be that little bit sharper and we'll be able to catch teams on the counter or keep the ball for longer periods.

"That's something that we'll work on but the players have done very well and deserve the three points. It was important, there was a little bit of pressure on us and they reacted well.''
