Sunderland sign Charalampos Mavrias
Sunderland have confirmed the signing of winger Charalampos Mavrias from Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee.

Mavrias, 19, has penned a three-year-deal at the Stadium of Light, with the Black Cats believed to be paying around £2.5 million for the Greece international.
Sunderland have been following Mavrias all summer, and a deal had seemed close to being completed when the Premier League side agreed a fee with Panathinaikos last month. However, the move collapsed following a series of delays relating to the player's medical.
Initially valued at around £6 million by the Greek club, a crippling financial situation has forced their hand with reports in Greece claiming the transfer will earn them an initial €3 million split between two payments.
Mavrias arrival at Sunderland makes him Paolo Di Canio's 11th summer signing, and the Italian spoke of his admiration for the player earlier this week.
“Until a player signs, I would prefer not to say too much about them,” he told the Sunderland Echo. “But what do I know about Mavrias? I know him, I know that he is a very good prospect, I know that he’s a very exciting player."
