Sorensen reveals new Stoke deal

Danish goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen has announced he has signed a new contract with Premier League side Stoke City.

Sorensen, 35, joined Stoke from Aston Villa in 2008 on a free transfer and has since made 84 league appearances for the Potters.

The shot-stopper's previous terms had been due to expire in summer 2012 and speculation had subsequently mounted over his future at the Britannia Stadium.

However, after returning to regular first-team action in Stoke's recent matches, Sorensen has confirmed he has agreed an extension to his deal with the club.

"Just signed a new contract this morning," Sorensen posted on his Twitter account. "Proud to be a Potter for another 2 1/2 years."
