Chelsea have been warned off making a bid for Porto defender Alvaro Pereira in January.
The Uruguay international has been linked with a reunion with former Porto boss Andre Villas-Boas at Stamford Bridge and was the subject of an unsuccessful Chelsea bid in the summer.
With Villas-Boas looking to boost his squad when the transfer window opens next month, Chelsea are expected to make an improved offer for the defender, but Porto president Jorge Pinto da Costa is adamant no players will leave the Estadio do Dragao in January.
"I have offered a guarantee to the coach that no important players will leave the team in January - and that includes Alvaro Pereira," Pinto da Costa said.
"I think the chance to do a deal for this player has passed and that is good news for us. Now is the time that rumours start spreading about players, but I am used to that."
