Boyd quits Eskisehirspor

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has terminated his contract with Turkish side Eskisehirspor after claiming that he has not been paid since joining the club.

Boyd, 28, only managed 76 minutes of league football because of injuries and loss of form and boss Michael Skibbe said earlier this week: "Boyd is a very good character, but his football has not been up to the desired level."

Now the striker has quit Turkey and started legal proceedings against the club amid claims from his agent that he has not received his wages since arriving in July.

"Kris has triggered a release clause in his contract," agent Mark Donaghy told Sky Sports News. "His contract has been terminated because of late payments and a legal process is now under way. He will now head back to the UK."

He is believed to be interested in a move back to Scotland and would be available on a free transfer.
