No Tevez approach from Spurs, PSG

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is no closer to leaving the club, despite heightened media speculation about interest from PSG and Tottenham.

• Richards set to return against Arsenal
• Yaya's ANC absence delayed
• Tueart: City fans know value of success

Reports on Wednesday in The Sun - for whom Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is a regular columnist - suggested that Spurs are keen to take Tevez off City's hands, while a French radio station claimed that the Argentina striker's representatives had met with PSG earlier this week.

But ESPNsoccernet has been informed that there has been no approach from Tottenham and that PSG only made a tentative enquiry in the initial aftermath of Tevez's refusal to warm-up against Bayern Munich in October, and have not been back with an official offer since.

"French radio were reporting a meeting between the player's advisors and PSG on Monday night when nothing of the sort was going on," a City insider told ESPNsoccernet. "There has been media speculation that City have agreed a fee with PSG - again, there is nothing going on."

AC Milan have been the only club to make an actual offer for Tevez, though their bid to take him on loan with a view to signing him permanently for £21 million in the summer was rejected by City, who are rigidly standing by their principles of not loaning out Tevez under any circumstances.

City are demanding a "fair market price" for Tevez - thought to be around €35 million - and maintain that he will remain on the Premier League club's books for the rest of the season, even if he never kicks a ball again for them.
