Udinese move top, AC Milan held

Udinese moved to the top of Serie A with a 2-1 win over Chievo at the Stadio Friuli, though Juventus could reclaim the lead when they visit Roma on Monday.

• Saturday's Serie A review

Antonio Di Natale put the home team in front midway through the second half and Dusan Basta doubled their lead 10 minutes from time.

Alberto Paloschi scored a consolation for Chievo in the 83rd minute, but Francesco Guidolin's side held on to move a point ahead of Juve, who have a game in hand, at the top of the table.

AC Milan missed the opportunity to join Udinese at the summit afterthey were held 2-2 by struggling Bologna.

Marco Di Vaio put the hosts in front but an equaliser from the evergreen Clarence Seedorf and a Zlatan Ibrahimovic penalty looked to have turned the game around. But Alessandro Diamanti levelled just two minutes later as Milan dropped two points behind new league leaders Udinese.

Napoli, who qualified for the Champions League knock-out stage in midweek, needed an 84th-minute equaliser from Blerim Dzemaili to earn a 1-1 draw at relegation-threatened Novara.

Ivan Radovanovic put the hosts into a deserved lead in the 70th minute but, just as Novara looked to be heading for their third win of the campaign, Dzemaili levelled after a miskick from Marek Hamsik.

Ten-man Catania held on for a 1-1 draw at Atalanta . Nicola Legrottaglie put the visitors ahead in the 18th minute but defender Nicola Spolli picked up his second yellow card and was sent off before half-time, leaving his side with a battle on their hands.

And Atalanta substitute Simone Tiribocchi equalised in the 70th minute to make the most of the numerical advantage but, although the hosts pressed forward, Catania held on for a draw. The result has left Catania in ninth place, two points clear of Atalanta.

Cagliari and Parma shared the spoils in a dour 0-0 stalemate at the Stadio Sant' Elia. The visitors looked more dangerous from the start but could not find a way past Cagliari goalkeeper Michael Agazzi, while the closest Parma came to scoring was at the death when Daniele Galloppa was staring at an open goal but headed wide.

Cagliari, who have won just once at home this season, mustered very little and were fortunate to clinch a point that saw them climb to eighth place and remain one point clear of Parma.
