Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua look to have moved a step closer to signing Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka after claiming they have agreed terms with the Frenchman and are now just waiting for him to sign on the dotted line.
Anelka, 32, has been heavily linked with a move to Asia over the past couple of weeks with Shanghai Shenhua publicly declaring their pursuit of the former Arsenal and Real Madrid frontman.
The Chinese outfit are set to make an official announcement about the proposed transfer on Monday but appear confident of landing Anelka, who has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge this season.
"We have agreed on all the contract details and we are only waiting for him to sign it," club official Ma Yue told Reuters, adding that all parties were "working vigorously" to push the deal through.
The offer on the table is thought to be a three-year contract, while Shanghai Shenhua are also hoping to bring in Anelka's compatriot Jean Tigana to manage the team next season.
