Sweden want England in draw

Sweden's players are keen to be put in the same group as England in the draw for the Euro 2012 finals, as they do not rate the Three Lions as one of ''the best teams in Europe''.

England are in the second seeding pot, alongside Germany, Italy and Russia, while Netherlands and world champions Spain join the two co-hosts Ukraine and Poland in the first.

With Croatia, Portugal and Greece joining Sweden in the third pot, and France the most dangerous opponent in pot four alongside Denmark, Ireland and the Czech Republic, Sweden are keen to land Fabio Capello's side on Friday afternoon.

"Of course, you want to avoid the best teams in Europe: Spain, Holland and Germany,'' PSV Eindhoven striker Ola Toivonen said. "I think it's going to be hard but if I had a wish, I would take England."

England faced Sweden last month and won 1-0 - their first victory over the Swedes since 1968 - with matches at both the 2002 and 2006 World Cups ending in draws. However, Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic also added that he would like to face the English again as they will be without main striker Wayne Rooney.

"It would be nice to play against England, without Rooney, during the first phase, while he is suspended,'' he said. "That is what we want.

"So it would be good to have England as the big name in the group and then maybe Ukraine or Poland. After that, I don't know. But one of those three would be good for us."
