Marseille crush PSG at Velodrome

Paris St Germain missed the chance to move level on points with Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier after being thumped 3-0 at arch rivals Marseille.

The big-spending visitors have now failed to win any of their last three league encounters, increasing the pressure on coach Antoine Kombouare. They were second best at the Stade Velodrome after Loic Remy put Marseille ahead in the ninth minute. Morgan Amalfitano doubled the advantage 20 minutes into the second half and Andre Ayew added a third for Didier Deschamps' side late on.

Lyon hit back after a poor run of results with a thumping 3-0 win on the road at Auxerre.

The final third of the match belonged to Lyon, starting on 61 minutes when the impressive Bastos burst beyond Traore and Stephane Grichting before firing in a shot at Sorin's near post that the keeper did well to turn away.

The second goal arrived on 68 minutes, Jimmy Briand springing the Auxerre offside trap to send through Lisandro, who coolly beat Sorin in the corner.

And the win was assured two minutes from time when Bastos received the ball from Kim Kallstrom, beat his marker Willy Boly and powered a shot beyond Sorin.

Arnold Mvuemba's penalty earned Lorient just a second win in six games as struggling Nice were beaten again 1-0 in Ligue 1.

The midfielder slotted home in the second half after Larrys Mabiala fouled Gilles Sunu as the hosts revitalised their push for the European places.
