Klopp warns Arsenal off Gotze

Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp has dismissed suggestions Arsenal could sign Mario Gotze in the January transfer window.

Gotze, 19, is considered one of Germany's finest talents, with several clubs reportedly monitoring his situation at Dortmund ahead of a potential bidding war.

Arsenal have been mooted as admirers of the midfielder and reports have suggested they could lodge a big-money offer for his signature when the transfer window reopens.

However, speaking ahead of Wednesday's Champions League meeting between Arsenal and Dortmund at Emirates Stadium, Klopp has warned the Gunners off making an approach for Gotze.

Klopp said: "Nothing can happen in January. Arsenal is only about 10 per cent of what is written in Germany so it's not a problem. Apparently Bayern Munich are interested in him.

"Nobody buys a player from Borussia Dortmund just like that. Not even Arsenal."

Of the rumours, Gotze said: "I've heard the rumours from the Premier League - but I never let that affect me. I'm only focused on Dortmund, now more than ever.

"This match comes at a good time for us. We need to win and that's our objective at Arsenal."
