Zlatan: Barca the best team in the world

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he has no regrets about leaving Barcelona and is excited about lining up against Pep Guardiola's side, who he considers to be "the best team in the world, without doubt".

• Blog: Pedro, Barca's great saviour?

Ibrahimovic, 30, played for Barcelona for one season but he struggled to make an impression in Catalonia and ended up moving on loan to Milan, before sealing a permanent switch this summer

The Sweden frontman will take on his former club when they visit the San Siro in a crunch encounter in Champions League Group H on Wednesday, and he knows that Milan will have their hands full against the reigning European champions.

"We will be playing against the best team in the world, without doubt,'' Ibrahimovic said. "Even when I left the team, I knew I'd left the best team in the world. But, for me and all the other parties involved, I think the best solution was to leave the club. Given the results for both sides, it was the best solution.''

Having missed the chance to return to Camp Nou when injury ruled him out of the clubs' first meeting - a 2-2 draw in September - Ibrahimovic is chomping at the bit to be involved this time around. However, the former Inter Milan and Ajax star insists the match risks being over-hyped, stressing that he will treat it like any other.

"I was looking forward to that match [at Camp Nou],'' Ibrahimovic said. "I was disappointed, but for me playing against a former team is nothing personal. Of course it's emotional, a big game, but in the end it's like any other game. There's no need to over-hype it.

"I think this game is more about prestige. It's good to come first, but sometimes it's good to come second. Both can be positive or negative. When you're in the Champions League, you're bound to meet a strong team, and to win the competition you will have to beat the strong teams.''
