Juventus maintain momentum

Juventus kept up their solid run of form in Serie A with a dominant 3-0 victory over Palermo in Turin.

• Saturday's Serie A review

Antonio Conte's team remain the league's only unbeaten side and rarely looked in danger of slipping up against an off-colour Palermo outfit.

Simone Pepe headed The Old Lady ahead after 20 minutes and Juve emphasised their superiority with further strikes by Alessandro Matri and Claudio Marchisio.

Udinese missed the chance to go top of Serie A following a shock 2-0 defeat at Parma

Jonathan Biabiany scored the opening goal with a close-range header from a Sebastian Giovinco corner after 58 minutes, and Giovinco sealed victory with a 76th-minute penalty. The Friuli outfit could have returned to the top of the table with a victory, but their miserable run at the Tardini stadium - where they have not won in five years - continued.

Roma moved to fifth in Serie A after a 2-1 win over Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico.

Miralem Pjanic put the home side ahead in the 24th minute and Fernando Gago doubled the Romans' lead early in the second half. Andrea Bertolacci cut the deficit on the hour mark but Roma held on to clinch their fifth triumph of the campaign. The defeat has left Lecce in 18th place, two points adrift of safety.

Sergio Pellissier fired Chievo to their first win on the road this season, a 2-1 victory at Catania.

Pellissier earned and converted a penalty on the stroke of half-time, before setting up Paolo Sammarco to double Chievo's lead in the 73rd minute.

Catania had previously missed a great chance to equalise after Francesco Lodi's spot-kick was saved by Chievo goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino. The hosts reduced the deficit with 12 minutes remaining thanks to Sergio Almiron's strike from long range but could not find the net again

Siena twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at home against Atalanta.

Two goals from German Denis had twice given the visitors the lead but Gaetano D'Agostino and Alessandro Gazzi levelled the scores. The result means mid-table Siena have extended their unbeaten run at their Artemio Franchi stadium to four games and are one point clear of Atalanta.

Marco Parolo's late goal earned Cesena their first win of the season in an otherwise disappointing Emilia-Romagna derby at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Chances were few and far between and the game appeared to be heading for a dull goalless draw before Parolo took matters into his own hands and scored from distance in the 84th minute.

Genoa left it late to beat Novara 1-0 in a game which saw both sides finish with 10 men. Miguel Veloso scored the only goal of the game in the 86th minute after Luca Antonelli and Riccardo Meggiorini were sent off.

There were chances at both ends and Novara can count themselves unlucky for failing to find the back of the net or get a point at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris having hit the crossbar in the second half and gone close numerous other times.
