St Etienne slay eight-man Nice
Nice's new coach Rene Marsiglia saw three of his players sent off as his team slumped to a 2-0 defeat to St Etienne.
Goalkeeper David Ospina, striker Eric Mouloungui and defender Renato Civelli all saw red in an ill-tempered affair which the visitors won thanks to two first-half goals from Kurt Zouma and Florent Sinama-Pongolle. Souleymane Diawara's second-half own goal was all Montpellier needed to continue their stunning start to the new Ligue 1 season with a 1-0 win against Marseille. Kicking-off in second and just a win behind leaders Paris St Germain, Rene Girard's men extended their unbeaten run to six with the win, and claimed a share of pole position ahead of PSG's game with Nancy on Sunday. Marseille's own impressive form ended as a result of the loss - their seven-game unbeaten run came to a halt - and they remain off the title pace. Evian edged out Lorient 2-1 to extend their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to four matches.
The hosts got their noses in front early on through Yannick Sagbo's penalty, and although Gilles Sunu equalised early in the second half, a Daniel Wass strike soon after proved decisive. Dijon ended their six game winless run in Ligue 1 thanks to two second-half goals despite being reduced to ten men against Bordeaux.
Brice Jovial headed the opener in the 69th minute, before Benjamin Corgnet sealed Dijon's fourth league win of the season four minutes later.
Dijon midfielder Damien Marcq was sent off after he picked up his second yellow card five minutes before the final whistle, but there was not enough time for the visitors to make the most of their one-man advantage. Bottom club Ajaccio netted a last-gasp equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw from their home match with Caen.
Ajaccio had taken a 52nd-minute lead through Ilan's penalty but 20 minutes later they found themselves trailing 2-1 and staring at a fifth successive defeat following goals from Caen duo Molla Wague and Lenny Nangis
However, with the game having entered stoppage time, Ajaccio launched a late attack and managed to earn themselves a point when Benjamin Andre fired home their equaliser.
