Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez has paid tribute to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez after he netted all four goals on Friday night when Uruguay beat Chile 4-0 in their 2014 World Cup qualifier.
Suarez is expected to start at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday evening as Uruguay take on Italy in a friendly game and, despite criticism that he has not had the impact that many expected of him at Anfield this season, Tabarez was full of praise for his 'extraordinary' star.
"I don't understand how people can still be surprised by Suarez. This kid is achieving incredible things and it is exciting to watch him play," he said.
"I remember he had a few problems when he first started at Nacional, then he exploded in Holland with Groningen and Ajax. He became captain in Amsterdam and now is starring for Liverpool. He's extraordinary."
Suarez, who was named the player of the tournament in Uruguay's successful Copa America campaign over the summer, has a tremendous goalscoring record in internationals - bagging 26 goals 52 appearances for La Celeste.
