Hannover fans pay tribute to Enke

Hundreds of Hannover fans marked the second anniversary of the death of goalkeeper Robert Enke by marching through the city in his honour.

Enke committed suicide in 2009 at the age of 32 after struggling with depression for a number of years without the knowledge of team-mates or club officials at Hannover, where he was No. 1 between 2004 and 2009.

After his death, Hannover, the German FA and the German Football League set up the Robert Enke Foundation to help people battling depression.

And on Thursday, around 300 people gathered in Hannover to pay tribute to the tragic goalkeeper, marching from the city centre to the club's AWD-Arena, where flowers were laid and candles lit in remembrance.
